Why Long Aluminium Profiles Are So Hard To Coat

Long architectural and industrial profiles are not designed for easy powder coverage. Deep grooves, tight corners and complicated shapes create strong Faraday-cage effects, so powder is pushed away from exactly where you need protection.

Powder “hides” from recesses and internal corners – outer edges look perfect while inner channels are thin or bare.

Profiles shield each other on standard racks, creating stripes and uneven film thickness.

Rework and hand repair after curing increases labour cost and destroys consistency.

We adapt the conveyor, booth and oven length to your maximum profile length and building size. Typical projects cover 4–7 m profiles, but the concept can be adjusted for shorter or longer parts.
Will an anti-shielding design increase powder consumption?
Not necessarily. The target is to move powder into the correct areas instead of spraying more everywhere. With better gun motion and racking, you can improve coverage without losing control of powder cost.
How much workshop space is needed for a long profile line?
This depends on profile length, output and pretreatment type. After receiving your building drawing, we design the layout to fit your footprint and show clear material flow.
Can we start with manual touch-up and upgrade later to more automation?
Yes. Many customers combine manual booths and automatic guns in the beginning. As volume grows, we can add more automatic guns, controllers or modify the booth to increase throughput.
